dogandcatThe March for the Animals is scheduled for Sunday, October 4 at 10:30 a.m. at the F.R. Newman Arboretum in The Plantations on the Cornell University campus. The Plantations also serves as host sponsor for the event.  Like other local "friend-raising" events, the majority of fundraising for the $100,000 goal will take place in the next two weeks leading up to the event.

With just a little less than two weeks before the day of celebration, the event already has 46 teams formed with150 individual participants. To date, over $61,000 has been raised towards the $100,000 goal.

This years' March is being chaired by City of Ithaca Mayor Svante Myrick.

"10 people who ask just 10 friends each for $10 each can raise $1000 in no time!" Bouderau says.  "Svante, like so many people in our community and our generous corporate sponsors, is dedicated to our no-kill mission and to saving lives not only in the City of Ithaca, but all of Tompkins County. I am thrilled that he is chairing our 6th annual March for the Animals".
