According to Ted Bryant, "Continuing the Ithaca Lion Club's focus on serving the community, I am excited to explore new and impactful projects to bring value to our current and prospective members. The club has a long history of making a difference in Ithaca and beyond, and yet there is still so much more we can do together."

Since the club's chartering in 1951, its members have worked on a variety of projects in the local community, such as vision screenings, recycling of eye glasses and hearing aids, adopt-a-highway, and Lions Quest training. Proceeds from fundraising events in 2017 have gone to the Salvation Army, Loaves & Fishes, Gadabout, Lions Camp Badger, Leader Dog, and Canine Helpers totaling over $2,000 in donations. The club is currently preparing for a Chicken BBQ fundraiser coming up on Sunday, August 20th at 11am at Cass Park in Ithaca.
