books1What were you reading 20 years ago? Friends of the Tompkins County Public Library is celebrating 20 years in their building on 509 Esty Street with a display of popular books from 1992. You can check out their selections at the upcoming sale (Saturday, Oct. 6-Monday, Oct. 8; Saturday, Oct. 13-Monday, Oct. 14; and Saturday, Oct. 20-Monday, Oct. 21).

Beryl Barr, the Book Sale Coordinator, says, “We have over 250,000 items for sale ranging from books, DVDs, CDs, to graphic novels, comics, computer software and games, to board games and puzzles.”

Barr continued with, “This year we have a lot of DVDs for sale as well as foreign language books.”

Opening day, the sale starts at 8 a.m. and runs until 8 p.m. On other days, the sale starts at 10 a.m.

Prices are set by category and decrease daily. The nearly 90 categories of items are re-stocked at least daily, with more popular sections being restocked almost constantly during the sale.
