dogandcatThe Shops at Ithaca Mall will host a Pet Expo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, with approximately 15 businesses and agencies who'll provide fun activities, demonstrations, and information for the pet-loving community.

The list of vendors includes 4H Junior Tailwaggers, Animal Images, Bubbles & Bows, Cayuga Nature Center, Colonial Veterinary Hospital, Dan the Snake Man, Finger Lakes Kennel Club, Guiding Eyes for the Blind, Hubbard's Hounds, Ithaca Dog Training Club, Long Island Bulldog Rescue, Pampered Pets, and more.

"This is a really fun event- people get excited about bringing their pets to the Mall," said Rafael Larramendi, Marketing Director for The Shops at Ithaca Mall. "Bubbles & Bows organizes the Doggie Costume Contest, and there are some great prize donations for winning pets. The 4H Junior Tailwaggers will be conducting agility demonstrations, and will have a smaller, beginner course section for guests' pets to try out. Dan the Snake Man is always a big draw with his rescued exotic pets, and there'll be "Ask the Vet" and "Ask the Trainer" booths, so guests can get information they may be seeking about pet health or behavior from local experts."

In addition, the Pet Expo will have a raffle to benefit the SPCA.

There will be a Mall table for guests to register their canines for the Doggie Costume Contest, enter the raffle to benefit the SPCA, or pre-register their kids for the Mall-oween Parade (Oct 25th). Guests will also visit the Big Screen of Terror Haunted House and Spirit Halloween- now open.
