New York State Governor Andrew M. Cuomo designated October 27-31, 2014 as School Board Recognition Week.  Elementary School Music teacher Katie Howell brought a Kindergarten class to Wednesday's board Of Education meeting to say thank you in song.

"Our Board Of Education members generously volunteer their time and energy to improve the education offered to students in the Lansing Central School District in a fiscally responsible and equitable manner," said Superintendent Chris Pettograsso. "Their tasks are substantial. They work together to establish a vision for the education program, design a structure to achieve that vision, craft policies, listen to student and staff concerns, assure schools are accountable to the community, and strongly advocate for continuous improvement in student learning. School Board Recognition Week provides a time to show appreciation for their willingness to tackle the numerous challenges of public education."

The class sang four songs.  If Kindergarteners singing to the School Board wasn't endearing enough, a packed house of high school students attending the meeting as a class requirement joined their younger counterparts in a rendition of 'The Wheels on the Bus Go Round And Round'.  Board members joined the chorus as well.
