dianenangeroni120Diane Nangeroni was recognized at the Lansing Board Of Education meeting Monday for contributions to the Lansing Booster Clubs.  LTAPA President Margaret Shackell presented Nangeroni with a clock honoring her for outstanding dedication to Lansing Bobcat Booster Club and LTAPA.

"We do not want you to stop," Shackell said.  "But we do want to thank you for all that you do.

"If you've ever had the opportunity to work with Diane, she is one of the most organized people," said School Board President Christine Iacobucci.  "If ever a question came up you would always say 'Where's Diane?  She'll know.'  In addition to that, she is one of the parents who comes to school board meetings and gives input, and has contributed that way."

"Currently Diane has no children in the district, yet she works harder than just about any other volunteer," said Shackell. "For Sports Boosters she does the online scheduling, stocking, manning the concessions stand, reaching out to parent reps, purchasing, organizing.  There is a game tonight that just got added to the schedule: she took care of all of that.  She is treasurer for LTAPA and the music and drama clubs, key set painter.  She organizes for the shows, makes everything really easy.  50/50 raffles, cash box, concessions, ticket sales, excellent monthly reports, promotion of the shows, she monitors our email... I could go on and on."

Nangeroni's two daughters are Lansing High School graduates.  She was lured to the board meeting under false pretenses, having been told she would be giving a report on Sports Booster Club concessions activities, which she did present.

The club served pizza and hot dogs, popcorn, candy and drinks at 21 junior varsity and varsity events this season.  Nangeroni said that construction of a new sports concessions stand will help volunteers and save a lot of work carrying supplies back and forth from storage.

"Concession provides a way to meet with people and lets the SPorts Boosters explain how their funds are used to support athletics at our schools," nangeroni said.  "It demonstartes that we stand behind our athletics, and that Lansing is a good host, welcoming our community as well as the visiting teams and all the spectators.  So there is more to concessions that just raising money for the Boosters."
