postheadericon Scholarships Awarded For Pre-schooler Music

lvmam24Little Voices Music & Motion is a program of the Town of Lansing Parks and Recreation department.  Little Voices is a research-based music and movement class for infants, toddlers, pre-schoolers and kindergartners.  Parents or other caregivers attend with the children.

Families sing, dance, and play with instruments and other props to a variety of traditional and original songs.  The curriculum teaches basic rhythm and tonal skills and assists children’s learning in other areas as well. It promotes the development of fundamental language and math skills, muscle development and motor coordination, social and emotional skills.

The Lansing Community Council funds make it possible for families to take advantage of this opportunity for their children, regardless of their financial situation.

Lansing Parks & Recreation is offering a summer session of six weekly classes, beginning the week of July 9th.

Pet of the Week

caitlin

Hi there, everyone. My name is Caitlin. Just look at my unique and beautiful face and you'll know I'm a unique and beautiful girl! I was 8 years old when I was brought to the SPCA of Tompkins County because I didn't get along with the other cat in my house. I can be a little nervous at first, but ultimately I seem to like people and appreciate toys. I am a very sweet cat waiting to come home to a place with respectful children over 6 years old, and where I can recover my sense of security; where I know I am safe and loved. Could it be your house?
