star_120Veterinary Health Services, PC has recently opened a new veterinary walk-in clinic in the Ithaca area.  Animal Care Walk-In opened April 4, 2011 at the Corners Community Center in Cayuga Heights off Hanshaw Road.

This is the second walk-in clinic that Dr. Dale S. Skrabalak has opened, the first being the Binghamton Animal Clinic, Johnson City, NY.  The walk-in concept is modeled after the human prototype.  As a proprietor of a multi-doctor, state of the art, companion animal hospital, Dr. Skrabalak and his practice manager, wife, Linda appreciated the need for flexible, urgent care for the pets of busy people with continually changing schedules.

Urgent care is not “emergency care”, which requires a full service hospital.  Urgent care is a convenience service for everything from routine care and vaccinations to in depth diagnosis and treatment.  Walk-in clinics work with local veterinarians by accommodating their clients when they can not get in to see their regular veterinarian.  Walk-ins can save clients hundreds of dollars by avoiding “emergency calls” for non-emergency cases.  At the same time, pet owners are able to stop by for everything from prescription food to flea products to training equipment.
