Dear IMO,
Where does April fool's Day come from? I've heard several stories about this ranging from some group in France to the silliness that comes with young lovers in spring. Can you help me out with this one?
Thanks,
Jeanette

Tonight (Friday) at 5pm Lansing Youth Services hosts its annual spaghetti supper to raise funds to support its programs. But this time Lansing middle schoolers will also be raising money for Family and Children's Services of Ithaca. "I am so blown away by this," says Youth Services Program Manager Isabel Bazaldua. "I am so proud of these students. A lot of people think of middle-schoolers as selfish. This program demonstrates to me that they simply need an opportunity to demonstrate their generosity and that they're really not selfish."

Leave it to Lansing High School students to make fundraising fun. This year the Student Council (SCO) has been finding unique ways to raise 'Pennies For Patients,' a national fund raiser for the benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society . 'Stall The Teacher' had participating teachers counting student-donated pennies before they could start teaching that day. Some kids got really into it and some of the teachers did. A cake wheel raised almost $200. A rave for charity and a raider ball tournament were part of the effort. But a recent competition raised $421.11 as students from each of the four classes sabotage their competitors' penny jars.

Pennies or Silver Sabotage -- they all count in the end
