Coming into the May 6th the dual meet vs. Elmira Notre Dame we knew our girls were going to have a tough meet on their hands. Our depth in the middle distance and distance program is what carried us to victory today. Senior Ryann Cretney was a triple winner in the 1500m, 800m and 3000m. She ran her races from more of a workout perspective than a race perspective today in a final tune-up for the Ithaca Relay’s this Friday.
Freshman Kathryn Shaw and Sophomore Katy Bland teamed up with Cretney in the 1500m for a 1-2-3 sweep in the event with Shaw (5:30) and Bland (5:23) running personal bests. They continue to improve meet by meet and show strong promise for the future of the Lansing Girls distance program.

In what has been an up and down past few weeks for Lansing Track and Field, a stellar performance was soon to happen to regain some confidence. They got just that, Friday night at the “Legends of the Night” Invitational, hosted by Odessa-Montour High School.
Lansing Girls easily outdistanced 9 other IAC and Section 5 teams including rivals Elmira Notre Dame and Trumansburg, scoring 132 points and doing it with authority. Every single Lansing athlete turned in a huge scoring day or a personal best on the track or in the field.
