We competed at the Red, White, Blue, and Gold Invitational at Maine-Endwell, hosted by M-E and Newark Valley on Saturday the 22nd.  Because it was the end of the vacation we were missing a lot of kids.  The weather was terrible and many of the field events were canceled.  We still had some very good performances and a few meet records set by our boys.

Phil Abbott set a meet record in the 1600m with a time of 4:46.9.  Rusty Landon set a meet record in the 400m with a time of 52.0.  Rusty also finished 4th in the 200m, 5th in the 100m, and 5th in the 110m Hurdles.   On the girls side, Preeti Panda took 5th in the 100m Hurdles, and 5th in the 200m.  Kylee Jordan took 3rd in the 1500m, and 5th in the 800m.

Both teams competed at Union Springs on Monday and endured another rainy and cold afternoon.  The teams in attendance were Union Springs, Marathon and Southern Cayuga.  Both boys and girls swept the meet.  The boys won over Union Springs 78-45, over Southern Cayuga 89-34, and over Marathon 93.5 - 29.5.  The girls won over Union Springs 117-4, over Marathon 114-7, and over Southern Cayuga 107-16.

On the boys side, Rusty Landon won the 400m, 2nd in the 110m Hurdles, tied for 1st in the 100m, and anchored the 1st place 1600m Relay team with Phil Abbott, Jeremy Petak, and Srdjan Rackov.  Phil Abbott won the 800m, and 1600m, and was a part of the 1st place 3200m Relay team with Frank Massi, Srdjan Rackov, and Nick Mallinson.  Andy Lockwood won the Shot Put and the Discus.  Sophmore Ken Tillapaugh won the Long Jump.

On the girls side, Preeti Panda won the 100m Hurdles with teammates Molly Webster and Lindsay Eisenhut coming in 2nd and 3rd.  Molly Webster and Lindsay Eisenhut took 1st and 2nd in the 400m Hurdles.  Freshman Rachel Palladino won the 100m and 200m dash events.  Kylee Jordan won the 400m and 800m runs.  Ryann Cretney won the 1500m run and finished 2nd in the 3000m with teammate Beth Lader finishing 3rd.

The 400m Relay (Eisenhut, Carol Melice, Rachel Palladino, Preeti Panda), 1600m Relay (Tiffany Lind, Christine Fuchs, Molly Webster, Anna Mapes), and 3200m Relay (Tiffany Lind, Ryann Cretney, Christine Fuchs, and Beth Lader) all took first place.  Alicia VanPelt won the Shot Put and High Jump and took 2nd in the Discus.  Kiki Gifft won the long jump.  The Triple Jump was cancelled because of the weather.  The Pole Vault was not contested because Union Springs does not have Pole Vault mats.

This weekend we are at Moravia Relays starting at 10am (Saturday).  Next Tuesday we are home against Union Springs, Dryden, and Watkins Glen at 4:30.
