Congratulations on your extremely successful first year of publication. You are fast becoming an integral part of the Lansing Community, and your honest & subjective perspective in reporting is truly appreciated. Your attendance at our monthly "Town Board Meetings" is very significant, because it enables you to report from a first hand perspective, the issues being covered by our local government. The "Lansing Star" is fast becoming the #1 source for honest, local news.

Regarding a topic in this weeks (July 21st) issue, I was extremely surprised to read that the school BOE changed the meeting date from Monday to Thursday, especially since it was solely to appease one person on the board, and the majority was clearly not in favor of the move. Whatever happened to "Majority Rules" for the BOE?

As you also noted, it was some time ago changed from Thursdays to Mondays, because it was found Thursday evenings were very inconvenient for residents.  We also will not enjoy the coverage as soon as you presently offer us on BOE news, since as noted, you go to press on Thursday evening before meetings will likely end.  Perhaps the "majority" of the BOE members will reconsider, and go the way they feel best for everyone, not just for one person.

Thanks again for a great 1st Year, and may you remain in Lansing for many years to come.
