Lansing Girls took 3rd at sectionals with big performances from freshman Chloe Ryan, junior Ryann Cretney, and senior Colleen Trowbridge.  Ryan advanced to the finals in both the 100 and 200, taking third and second respectively.  Cretney won the 1500m, took third in the 800m, and helped the 4x800mR team of Natalie Usack, Tiffany Lind, and Katy Bland to take third place.  Trowbridge had a fanominal day in triple jump as she set a new personal record of 32’7".  That jump advanced her to finals where she took 4th place.

Lansing had eight girls qualify to compete at the state qualifiers meet last Thursday/Friday.  Seniors Tiffany Lind, Natalie Usack, Kendal Dean, Colleen Trowbridge, Preeti Panda, and Veronica Palladino lead the way for freshman Katy Bland and Chloe Ryan.  Cretney, setting a new school record, took home first place and will go to the state meet this weekend as section IV’s top seed in the 2000m Steeplechase.  Cretney will also be anchoring the 4x800mR team at the state meet that consists of Usack, Lind, and Bland.  Congratulations a phenomenal season to those who are done and good luck to those still competing!

With numerous wins, two school records, and one facility record, junior Ryann Cretney has been named this years MVP of the Lansing Girls Track & Field team.  Senior Colleen Trowbridge has been chosen as the recipient of this years Coach’s Award for her dedication, ability to listen to feedback, and determination.
