One voter's answer to Gail Van Wicklen's questions: first, I agree that maintaining what we already have makes the most sense -- but only up to the analogous point at which you decide that your car is costing too much to maintain. Do you just keep supporting the repair technician, or do you upgrade to something safer, more efficient, and cheaper to run?
Second, as a reader of the Lansing Star, you know that the condition of the schools and their dire need of capital improvement has been public knowledge for years. The "secret" has long been out and published in detail on these pages.
So Gail, you can tell the next person who wails that the district
officials just haven't kept us informed to either go to the meetings or
take a few minutes to read this publication.
