The
Service League of Ithaca recently donated $1,000 to the Girl Scouts - Seven
Lakes Council for financial assistance to girls from Tompkins County.
Financial assistance is used to help girls participate in summer camping and
many other opportunities throughout the year. “Without financial
aid, many girls from Tompkins County would not be able to participate in all the
benefits offered in Girl Scouting each year,” explained Glenda
Reinshagen, Fund Development Director for the Girl Scout Council.
Girl
Scouts’ leadership development program gives girls the skills they need
to avoid unhealthy behaviors and make responsible decisions that will help them
overcome challenges throughout their lives. The positive impact Girl
Scouts has on young girls helps to turn them into tomorrow’s leaders.
“The
Service League’s impact on girls in Tompkins County
is immeasurable. Over the years, they have given thousands of dollars
helping dozens of girls participate fully in the Girl Scout program like summer
camping,” Reinshagen said. ---- v3i29 |
