Lansing Speeds into Two More Swim Meet Wins Print Recommend This Article to a Friend

ImageLansing Girls varsity Swim Team earned another two wins when they beat  Watkins Glen 108 - 75 last week, and Waverly 107 - 62 on Tuesday.  Both meets were away games for the Lansing girls.  While Watkins Glen took first place in seven of the twelve events, Lansing won easily on points.

Lansing's A team of Haleigh Wixson, Molly Murphy, Jaclyn Conklin and Ellie Fausold scored in Watkins Glen in second place in the 200 Yard Medley Relay.  In the 200 Yard Freestyle Alex   Conte took second, Valerie Massi third, and Courtney Pollack scored in fourth place.  In the next event Kali Dean came in first in the Women 200 Yard IM in 2:20:01, with Lansing's Lexi Payton and Kelsy Quigley scoring.  Ashley McDonald came in second in the  50 Yard Freestyle with Katrina Mehringer and Anna Mapes also scoring for Lansing. 

In the 1 mtr Diving diving event Danyelle Barron scored 133.60, Kayla Arrison  93.95, and Jessica Morse 55.60 for a total of 13 points.

In the 100 Yard Butterfly Courtney Pollack, Kelsy Quigley, and Chelsea Tucker all scored, winning second, third and fourth place respectively.  next up was the 100 Yard Freestyle, which Lansing's Kali Dean won handily, scoring 6 points for her 55.03 swim.  The next fastest finisher was Watkins Glen's Molly Murphy, finishing in 1:00.75, followed by Alex Conte and Sarah Tull scoring for Lansing.

Ashley McDonald took first place in the 500 Yard Freestyle in 5:58.02, with Valerie Massi and Nicole Nassif scoring as well.  Kali Dean, Sarah Tull, Alex Conte and Ashley McDonald sped ahead of the competition to win the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, with Courtney Pollack, Danyelle Barron, Morgan Barron and Kayla Arrison scoring in second. 

In the 100 Yard Backstroke Lexi Payton scored in third place, with Anna Mapes and Kate Adie taking third and fourth.  In the eleventh event, Molly Murphy won again for Watkins, followed by Lansing's Katrina Mehringer, Chelsea Tucker, and Sarah Tull.  Alex Conte, Kelsy Quigley, Valerie Massi and Lexi Payton came in second in the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay with Courtney Pollack, Nicole Nassif, Kate Adie and Anna Mapes scoring as well.

At Waverly Lansing started out strong when Ashley McDonald, Chelsea Tucker, Kali Dean, Katrina Mehringer finished the Medley Relay in 2:12.81.  Kelsy Quigley won first place in the 200 Free in 2:19.81.  Katrina Mehringer sped to first place in the 50 Free, then Kali Dean  won the 100 Fly in 1:06.26, and Kelsy Quigley took first in the 100 Free in 1:04.17.

Lansing took first place in the last four events with  Katrina Mehringer, Lexi Payton, Anna Mapes, Kelsy Quigley winning the 200 Free Relay, Ashley McDonald the 100 Back, Kali Dean the 100 Breast, and Liz Stanton, Cassidy Farr, Billie Risboskin, and Jessica Alexander completing the 400 Free Relay in 4:22.69.
