ImageThe Lansing Boys Cross Country team took second to Trumansburg, winning over Moravia and Watkins Glen at their home meet on Tuesday. Sophomore Josh Barber had an amazing finish as he went neck and neck with Moravia's Jason Phillips. Barber had a season best time of 18:32 and was joined by his other teammates in setting personal records on the home course. Tim Shea (20:24), Henry Potter (20:31), and Jon Fenner (20:43) worked together to finish as a team. Jon Cleveland, suffering an ankle injury mid race, still finished strong in 6th place with a time of 19:16. Mike Monacelli (21:47) and George Wigsten (21:49) proved their strength finishing in the top twenty.

Shanna Swanson, the only varsity girls competitor for Lansing, had her best race of the season. She beat out Watkins' Sumer Pettet at the finish taking second place for Lansing with a time of 22:22. Modified competitor Hannah Shea also had personal best race on the home course.

The Lansing Cross Country team will take on Marathon, Moravia, Southern Springs and Trumansburg next Tuesday in Groton at Stonehedge Golf Course.
