Shanna Swanson It is very hard to pick top sports events because all our Lansing athletes are so successful all the time. But this year John Duthe and Kyle Dake earned top honors as they became the State Champions in Golf and Wrestling, respectively. Kali Dean made it to State by swimming to the lead in the 50 Yard Freestyle, and 100 Yard Freestyle. Meanwhile the Ithaca Shooting Stars girls hockey team continues to have succcess on the ice. Another sports thrill this year was watching the Small Fry Football teams at Schoellkopf Field in September, playing two Sunday morning games that pitted Lansing's Small Fry football teams against the South Senaca Falcons. The Lansing Varsity coaches deserve special recognition for sending weekly report to the Star. They not only lead Lansing to victory time after time, but have been instrumental in the Star keeping Lansing up to date on their teams' progress.
