ImageDuring the holiday weekends, the Ithaca 14U and 16U Shooting Stars were active home and away. The 14Us traveled to the Capital District area Dec. 21-22 and they played closer to home Dec. 29-30. The 16Us played Dec. 23 and Dec. 30 at home.

On the road, the Ithaca 14U Shooting Stars lost to the Saugerties 16Us 0-3. Ali Pace stopped 25 shots as goaltender. They fell to the Adirondack Northstars 14U, 1-3, with their lone goal scored by 16U players who were serving as substitutes; Kaitlyn Ryan scored assisted by Kathryn Luschwitz and 14U player Lauren Herrick. Pace made 33 saves in this contest. In a rematch with the Northstars 14U, Ithaca won 2-1.

Goals were scored by Carrie Wilder, assisted by Luschwitz, and by Luschwitz assisted by Ryan. Angela Everhart made 32 saves in goal.

The 14Us played the Camilus Cougars 14U twice during the Dec. 29-30 weekend ending in a 1-1 tie at home, and a 0-5 loss away. The one goal was scored by Marissa Ramos assisted by Catherine Watkins.
Everhart made 29 saves. In the loss, she made 41 saves. They also played the IYHA Bantam Snowbelt team to a 0-3 loss with Everhart making 32 saves.

The 16U Shooting Stars faced the Ithaca Sirens, adult women's team, on Dec.23 at Cass Park. The game ended in a tie 2-2. Goalies Deb Grantham of the Sirens and Annabelle Jones for the Shooting Stars each stopped 15 shots. Lauren Cole scored from an assist by Gabe Klick and Katie Long scored from an Emily Eisenhut assist for the Stars. Karen Uber scored first for the Sirens assisted by Denise Ramelot. Joy Veronneau also scored assisted by Ramelot.

On Dec. 30, the 16Us faced the Mohawk Valley Herricanes 19Us and lost 1-0. Sarah Eisenhut stopped 11 shots in the close game in which Mohawk Valley needed to stop 18 shots. Later they tied the Perinton Edge 19Us 2-2. Jones stopped 10 shots while Perinton needed to stop twice as many shots for the tie. Cole scored assisted by Klick, and Long scored unassisted.
