ImageDuring the Jan. 18-20 weekend, the youngest and oldest Ithaca Shooting Stars girls hockey teams were in action; the 13Us won two games at home while the 19Us went 1-1-1 at the Adirondack Northstars Winter Classic tournament.

The 13U Shooting Stars played two games against a new opponent from New Hartford 12U on Saturday. They won both games, 11-1 and 15-0. In the first game goals scored by Camille Rogers, Grace Ulinski, Anastasia Lyon (2), Bridget Derraugh(2), Rachel Brock, Hannah Wilson, Jacy Hollander, and Gwen Umbach (2). Assists by Hollander, Rogers, Umbach, Brock, and Risa Ulinski. Alex Stagliano had 6 saves in goal. In the second game goals by Rogers(3), Lyon (2), Umbach (3), G. Ulinski (2), Derraugh (4), and Wilson. Assists were provided by Rogers, Wilson, Derraugh, G.Ulinski, Hollander, and Ismini Ethridge. Sophia Hunt faced no shots in the same game.

Ithaca's 19U Shooting Stars competed well in the annual Winter Classic tournament but missed advancing to the semi-final round. They tied the Buffalo Regals 1-1; lost to the Quarry Cats from New Jersey, 3-1; and defeated the Syracuse Stars II, 4-1. Sarah Eisenhut stopped 20 shots in the even game with the Regals; Lauren Cole scored a power play goal assisted by Janesa Cornish. Annabelle Jones stopped 20 shots in the loss to the Quarry Cats. Cole scored unassisted. In the victory on Sunday, Eisenhut stopped 23. Cornish scored one goal and assisted on two goals by Katie Long. Erin Grainger also assisted on a Long goal and scored one on her own unassisted.
