 On February 13, 2008, the Lansing Boys' Varsity Swim Team went to Watkins Glen for sectional pre-lims. The highlights included two new Watkins Glen pool records posted by Lansing's senior All-American swimmer Jake Sangren. As the first leg of the 200 freestyle relay, Jake posted a time of 22.83 which counted for a time in the 50 freestyle. This time is now a new Watkins Glen pool record and replaces the old time of 22.86 set by Lansing's Sterling Gell in 2007. In the 100 backstroke, Jake recorded a new Watkins Glen pool record by improving his own time (53.70) with his new time of 52.93.
The Lansing swimmers recorded the following official times which would then be used for their 'seed time' at sectionals on February 16, 2008 at OFA (Owego Free Academy).
