Ithaca 16Us Also Advance to State Tournament
 
The Ithaca 14U Shooting Stars went 1-0-1 at the Central Section 14U Tier 2 Tournament on Saturday advancing them to the NYSAHA Tournament March 7-9 in Glens Falls as Central Champions.  The 16Us will advance to the 16U Tier 2 Tournament in Ogdensburg as second seed from Central after going 1-1 but losing the tie-breaker for top seed.

The 14Us played to a 1-1 tie with the Rome Grizzlies.  The one goal was scored by Carrie Wilder and assisted by Serena Mendola and Marissa Ramos. Angela Everhart made 41 saves in goal. The Ithaca girls defeated the  Camillus Cougars, 3-0. Wilder scored twice (once unassisted and once assisted by Meredith Kirk) and she assisted on the third goal by Charlotte Stevens. Everhart stopped an 26 in the victory.

Other team members are Lauren Herrick, Krystalyn Yonkin, Catherine Watkins, Oliva Ramos, Allison Grippin, Ali Pace, Clara Karastury, Hannah Golay, Jackie Cornell, and Carolyn Dunk. They are coached by Chris Grippin, Dave Herrick, and John Golay.

In the first of two sectional games with their rival Camillus Cougars, the Ithaca 16U Shooting Stars swon 3-1. Katie Long, Janesa Cornish and Melissa Ash scored goals assisted by Lauren Cole (2), Emma Hassen, Kaitlyn Ryan, and Cornish. Sarah Eisenhut's shutout performance was spoiled during a 5 on 3 situation late in the third period. Camillus won the second game 3-1 with Annabelle Jones stopping 20 shots on goal. Long scored the lone goal assisted by Colleen Dillon. An overtime mini-game to determine state tournament seeding was won by Camillus 1-0 with Jones stopping another 9 shots. Other team members are Gabe Klick, Kathryn Luschwitz, Erin Grainger, and Emily Eisenhut. They are coached by Tony Eisenhut, Karen Cole and Dave Cole.
