New York City – Ricky Charles Johnson, age 56 of New York City, died August 18, 2005 at his residence. Mr. Johnson, also known as “Big Rick,” was born April 25, 1949 in Ithaca, a son of the late Lois Johnson.
Survivors include his three sons, Sean C. Jones, Terrence Johnson both of Ithaca, Troy (Evett) Johnson of Syracuse; a daughter, Toyetta Johnson of Ithaca; a aunt Patricia Milton of Ithaca and two uncles, Chester (Nancy) Johnson of Highland Falls, NY and Fredrick Richardson of Williamsport, PA; five sisters, Deborah Johnson and Mary Jo (Williams) Sanders, of Syracuse, Toni Malone and Nancy Johnson of Ithaca and Donna (Stephen) Pace of Atlanta, GA; 10 grandchild, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and a host of cousins. He is predeceased by his sister, Valerie Morgan who died in 2001.
Burial will be Thursday (September 22, 2005) at 11 a.m. in Frear Memorial Park in Ithaca. The Rev. Shirley Reeves will officiate. Memorials may be made to the family.
