Letters: Thanks to Lansing Hall of Fame Print
Dennis "Bubby" Eade
Friday, 04 April 2008
Letters to the EditorI would like to take this brief opportunity to thank Mr. Marty Christopher and the Lansing Athletic Hall of Fame Committee.  My name is Dennis Eade, and a few months ago I had the pleasure of being inducted in the Lansing Athletic Hall of Fame.  My induction was a great honor and a true pleasure.  Lansing athletics has played such a major role in the person I have become today.  I am fortunate enough to have maintained a relationship with several of my teammates and coaches over the years.  I will forever be greatful for the impact these fine people and fine friends have had in my life.

I have been fortunate enough to have experienced some great things in my life and I have even experienced, what I would describe as, "once in a life time" opportunities.  Though I cherish these great opportunities, there are no fonder memories than the years spent on the athletic fields in Lansing, NY.  They are memories that make me laugh...make me cry...make me happy...and make me proud.  They are memories of best friends, loving families, dedicated coaches, and a town that stood behind its team.

Lansing athletics taught me such important life-long lessons.  Lessons of commitment, dedication, determination, work ethic, self confidence, pride, teamwork and family. To this day, I follow the success of Lansing sports via the internet and an annual pilgrimmage for a high school football game.  I continue to see the tremendous pride and support with which the community still blankets it's young athletes.

I would like to thank my teammates, my coaches, my friends, my family and the people of Lansing who have impacted my life in such a positive way. I would again like to thank Mr. Christopher and the Hall of Fame committee for their commitment to the tradition and pride that "is" Lansing sports...and for allowing me to be a small part of it all.

Sincerely,
Dennis "Bubby" Eade
