Letters to the EditorRegarding the conflict between two apple sellers, since the veteran, Mr. Foster, has been working in that location for some time and sells many other items of vegetables and fruits in addition to apples, rather than make him move, why not compromise and ask him to not sell apples, but permit him to continue selling all other produce.

That would make Mr. Reynolds happy (as his apple business would not suffer) and would also permit Mr. Foster to stay in business. In addition, both Mr. Reynolds and Mr. Foster perform a valuable service to the residents of the area as it is difficult to get fresh fruit and vegetables at an affordable price in Lansing.

Unfortunatley, there are few places other than Ithaca's Farmers' Market where fresh produce can be purchased and, for most, Ithaca Farmers' Market's prices are too high. The produce is wonderful, but most run-of-the-mill people cannot afford to patronize the Farmers' Market. Mr. Reynolds and Mr. Foster both sell quality merchandise at an affordable price so I hope they come to some sort of compromise.
