It finally rained the other day. I suppose that's good after the drought we've had. But really, I was just getting used to not having to mow the lawn!

Let's face it, the drought did have some good points. Here are my top ten:

10. If you spilled water on your lap you could go outside for five minutes and dry off

9. There was no water under the bridge

8. You didn't have to worry about cars splashing you in the mall parking lot

7. When you sang "How Dry I Am" this summer, you really meant it

6. Water District extension requests were up

5. You could fry eggs on the pavement of Triphammer Road

4. The economy was helped by keeping well diggers in business

3. Swimming felt better this summer

2. Laundry was reduced because there was no mud

1. We only had to mow our lawns twice this summer
