The varsity Boys Soccer team is now 8-3. The team has been playing better and better every game. Over the past 4 games the boys have defeated Waverly 8-0, Groton 7-0, Union Spring 5-0, and Watkins Glen 2-1.
During the Watkins Glen Game the boys avenged an earlier loss during the season. Watkins Glen struck first but Lansing answered 2 minutes letr on a corner kick goal when Joe Skeps hit a ball that was deflected in by Casey Byrne.
The game went back and forth with great chances by both teams.
Harrison Herzog almost put lansing ahead early in the second half but
his shot just went wide. Watkins had a great chance themselves but
Michael Bradford made a great save to keep the score teid at 1. With
just under 15 minutes left to play Lansing played a ball into the box
and the goal keeper missplayed. Alex Linde (senior) was right there
to head the ball into the goal for the game winner.
This was a big character test for the boys. Watkins is a physical
athletic team and we answered everything thew threw at us. I was proud
of the team effort!
Lansing hosts Trumansburg on Saturday, October 4th at 7:00
