Fire Department Carnival 2009 in Pictures Print Recommend This Article to a Friend

ImageLast weekend the Lansing Fire Department hosted their annual Carnival.  Department President Robert Wagner says attendance was about average or above average, and the carnival went well.  About 30 volunteer emergency responders manned the carnival, cooking and selling food at the food pavilion, working the fire dog, selling tickets, and monitoring the event.

Recently the department voted on whether or not to continue the event.  "Some people are just getting burned out.  It's tough to get more people to work on it," Wagner says.  But enough wanted to continue the community event to continue the contract for another two years.  "I look forward to it every year," Wagner adds.
