Leah R. Snow, age 65, of 915 Cobb Street, Groton, NY and formerly of Etna passed away Sunday, June 15, 2009 at the Cortland Regional Hospital. Leah was born Nov. 18, 1943 at Ithaca, a daughter of the late Paul and Virginia Lee Kobasa. Leah was graduated from Ithaca High School and was employed for 37 years at NYSEG. Her husband, Kenneth Snow, passed away Feb. 18, 1991. Leah was a wonderful and devoted mother, grandmother and friend that will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Kenna M. (Douglas) Tompkins of Groton; her son, William K. "Bill" Snow of Freeville; a grandson, Austin Tompkins; an uncle Elwood Lee of Berkshire; many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her companion, John Buckingham, and his children, Dawn, Dara and Josh; her sisters-in-law, Nancy (Butch) McDaniels, Marge (Jake) Davis and Beverly (Mel) Swenson; friends, Kenneth Tompkins and his daughter, Morgan; Craig Nash and family, and many others too numerous to mention. Leah was predeceased by an aunt, Rose Jursick and her in-laws, William and Virginia Snow.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Thursday, June 18, 2009 at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. Phil Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in Quick Cemetery, Brooktondale. Friends are invited to call from 7 to 9 PM Wednesday at the funeral home, 55 West Main St., Dryden. Those wishing to remember Leah are asked to consider a memorial to a charity of their own choice.
