ITHACA – Clare Moyer Schuler, age 97 of Ithaca formerly of Allentown, PA died Sunday morning (February 5, 2006) at Oak Hill Manor in Ithaca.

Mrs. Schuler was born May 29, 1908 in Egypt, PA, a daughter of the late George S. and Florence Klein Moyer. She was the wife of the late Edward J. Schuler who died June 23, 1996.

She was a member of the Allentown Garden Club for many years. She resided at B’nai B’rith Senior Center in Allentown before moving to Ithaca in 1996. She enjoyed stained glass arts, crafts and gardening. Her favorite past-times were traveling and cookie baking.

Survivors include her son Professor Richard E. (Mary) Schuler of Ithaca; three grandchildren, Dr. Richard E. (Natalie) Schuler Jr. of Niskayuna, NY, Anne Schuler of Jackson, Wyoming and Judith (Joel) Miller of New Canaan, Conn; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her three brothers, Paul, Ernest, and Russell Moyer; three sisters, Miriam Thurau, Adelma Kethledge and Florence Fruendt.

Private Burial Services will be in the Spring of the year in Allentown, PA. Memorials may be made to Oak Hill Manor 602 Hudson St., Ithaca. Arrangements were completed by Herson Funeral Home
