The Lansing Lions have teamed with the Boy Scouts to deck out the intersection of Ridge Road and 34 with American flags on special holidays.

The project was concieved three years ago, at which time the Lions raised the money to buy the flags.  But it took time to get permission to hang the flags on utility poles, so the flags didn't appear until this year's 4th of July.  In the meantime, the Boy Scounts raised the money for the poles and brackets, and hung the flags.

In the T intersection formed by 34 and 34B at the Rogue's Harbor Inn, 10 flags adorn the road in each direction, going as far as the fire station to the West and the ball fields to the East.  There are a total of 30 flags.

The flags can't remain on the poles without lighting, so they are being removed and stored after each holiday.
