The 44th Summer Mainstage Season at the Hangar Theatre continues with gin, jazz, love and murder in this production of Chicago.

In 1920s Chicago, Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly discover the easiest way to achieve stardom is by committing crimes of passion. Based on the true stories of "The Merry Murderesses of Death Row," these two would-be stars compete to prove their innocence, become the nation's sweetheart, and most of all, show that corruption never goes out of fashion.

Broadway regular Kate Loprest (Hairspray, Drowsy Chaperone, First Date), plays Roxie Hart. Lauren Sprague, playing Velma Kelly, has appeared in the national tours of Cinderella, Wizard of Oz and La Cage Aux Folles.

Director Michael Barakiva brings an array of vaudeville acts into the musical numbers of the show, including ventriloquism, cirque, aerial, torch song, pantomime, singing and dancing duets, and more! With permission from the Verdon Fosse Legacy, choreographer Mimi Quillin has created the musical numbers "in the style of Bob Fosse."

This Hangar Theatre Company production of Chicago accompanies a season of shows dedicated to strong, female protagonists; these women know how to spin a scandal.
