DANIEL BINELLI (Argentina) is an internationally renowned master of the bandoneón, seasoned composer and experienced arranger specializing in all styles of tango. Binelli is widely acclaimed as the foremost exponent and torchbearer of the music of Astor Piazzolla. In 1989, Binelli joined Astor Piazzolla´s New Tango Sextet, touring internationally. Previously, from 1968 until 1982, he was a member Osvaldo Pugliese’s Orchestra, for which he created many arrangements.

POLLY FERMAN is one of the leading interpreters of the music of the Americas.  Ferman is a New York-based pianist who captivates audiences with her outstanding performances of works by Gottschalk, Nazareth, Gershwin, Villa-Lobos, Ginastera, Piazzolla and many others. Her mastery of the literature prompted The Japan Times to recognize her as "a Musical Ambassador of the Americas."

For this special CCO “Night of Tango”, Binelli and Ferman will unite their talents for an electrifying night featuring different tango styles. The program will feature works by Di Gusto, Piazzolla, Cobian, Troilo, Mores, Aieta, Plaza, and Binelli.  Whether you’re a tango enthusiast or a newcomer to the dance, this unique duo will have you dancing in your seat.

The evening will also feature tango artwork by local artist Karen Kucharski, and tango dance demonstrations by Ithaca Tangueros’ Joaquin Canay and Natalia Canneva.
