Assemblywoman Barbara Lifton (D/WFP-125AD, Tompkins/Cortland) announced Wednesday that she has again been appointed to the Assembly budget conference committee on Education. This committee met today for the first time with the Senate budget conference committee on Education in an open, public meeting to begin to reconcile the differences between the Assembly and the Senate one-house budget proposals, which were passed on Monday of this week.

"I'm very pleased that Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie has appointed me once again this year to the Assembly budget conference committee on Education," said Lifton. "There are big differences this year between the Assembly and the Senate when it comes to education, on everything from the Education Tax Credit to Foundation Aid, and I'm happy that we will have the opportunity to discuss these differences in a public setting, and begin to work toward agreement over the two weeks ahead as we finalize the state budget."
