EdWilcoxEdward M. Wilcox, age 66 of Lansing, New York passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday, January 23, 2015 at home.

Born June 15, 1948 in Ithaca, New York he was the son of the late Orman and Stephanie Jaworski Wilcox. Ed was retired from Cornell University after 36 years and has been employed at Worsell Farms, Genoa Sand & Gravel and currently at Binns Excavation & Gravel.

Ed was the happiest when he was working. Whether repairing large equipment, cooking ten turkey’s for Thanksgiving, or working the North Lansing Election Day Dinners and pancake breakfasts.

On October 23, 1992 he married Connie Tyrrell and gained an instant family. Ed is survived by his wife Connie at home and her children, Scott (Kim Sweeney) Purcell, Charlie “Cricket” (Marcie) Purcell; grandsons Daniel, aka “Sunshine” and Alex Purcell; brothers-in-law, Chris (Eileen) Tyrrell, Gary (Ed Wagner) Tyrrell; mother-in-law, Irene Tyrrell; aunt, L. Jean Sharpsteen aka “Colonel Klink”; nephews, Patrick (Liz) Tyrrell, Mark (Krista) Tyrrell, great nephews and niece, Peyton, Patrick, Julia, and Cole. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his father-in-law, Robert Tyrrell.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 29,, 2015 at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 West Main Street, Dryden, New York with Pastor Jason Berga officiating.  Friends may call from 4-7 PM, Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at the funeral home.
