Juanita Irene Mooney, age 84 of Ithaca, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday (February 5, 2010) at Hospicare. Mrs. Mooney was born in Genoa, the daughter of the late Frances Wood. Mrs. Mooney was an avid BINGO player and she enjoyed going to the casino with her children when she was active. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting as well as working with canvas.

Survivors include her seven children, Mary Ussery, Frank (Sally) Wells, Carol (David Bogart) Reeves, Cherry (Howard) Porter, Richard (Cathy) Mooney, Tina (Jr.) Mooney, and Tony Mooney Sr.; 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; a sister, Clara Fredenburg; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Mooney is predeceased by her husband, Paul Mooney who died in 1963; a son, Paul E. Mooney; a grandson, Jimmy Mooney; a brother, Clarence Bagley and a sister, Bertha Hughes.

 

Friends and family may call Monday (February 8, 2010) from 5 - 7 PM at the Herson Funeral Home, located at the Family Service Center, 110 S. Geneva Street, Ithaca. A Memorial Service will follow at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Spring in Calvary Cemetery. If desired, memorials may be made to Hospicare, 172 East King Rd., Ithaca.
