Robert E. "Bob" Dake passed away at his home on Monday, November 15, 2010 after a lengthy illness.

He will be missed by his wife of 50 years, Andrea (Davis), son Douglas (Jodi Provost) of Lansing, NY, daughters Kristie (Rick) Harrold of Lorain, OH and Carla (Jeff) Overstrom also of Lansing; his grandchildren Kyle, Corey and Kristin Dake, Alyssia Harrold, his sister-in-law Ann Dake of Indiana as well as numerous extended family and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents Merrills and Beatrice Dake, brother Donald Dake of Crawfordsville, IN and sister Patti Dake.

Bob attended Ithaca High School, Wyoming Seminary in Kingston, Pennsylvania and Bowling Green State University in Ohio graduating with a bachelor's degree in Education.
Bob was a well respected teacher and wrestling coach in the 1960's at Lansing Schools and will be forever remembered by many as the founding father of Lansing Wrestling.

Bob and his family moved to Westlake, OH where they lived for 25 years. While residing in Westlake, Bob was one of the original founding members of the Westlake Demons Junior All Stars football program; a program that is still going strong 38 years later.

After returning to the Lansing Area in the 1990's, Bob continued to work with youngsters, sharing his wealth of knowledge and passion for the sport he knew and loved so well.

In 2004, Bob was inducted into the Lansing High School Athletic Hall of Fame for his contributions to the wrestling program. His love and legacy will live on through the many lives he touched over the years.
A memorial gathering will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday November 26, 2010 at the Lansing United Methodist Church, 32 Brickyard Road, Lansing, NY.
