I support Maura Kennedy-Smith for Lansing Town Justice. She has the training and experience to fill that important role immediately, and to fill it well. Ms. Kennedy-Smith is an attorney who has represented clients and who now is the law clerk for one of our Tompkins County judges.

Her opponent believes he should be elected because he is good with people. I believe Lansing residents deserve a town justice who knows the law, understands legal procedures and rules of evidence, and will make fair, legally sound decisions. Ms. Kennedy-Smith brings those qualities and Lansing residents are fortunate to have such a strong candidate for this critical position.
