"We're fortunate to have such talent and passion on our team," said Vizella Media and ESPN Ithaca President Todd Mallinson. "It's rewarding to see their efforts recognized, as not many people realize the long hours and preparation that goes into the broadcasts."

The award for Outstanding Coverage of a Local Sporting Event was presented to ESPN Ithaca's play-by- play broadcast team of Nick Karski and Brian Delaney. They were honored for their broadcast of the 2016 Section IV Class "C" Boys Basketball Championship between Moravia and Trumansburg at Binghamton's Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena. This marks the third NYSBA Award for Karski during his tenure at ESPN Ithaca and the second nod for Delaney.

"I'm very honored to receive this award and to share it with my broadcast partner Brian Delaney, who is the best teammate I could ask for," said Karski. "To be recognized along with so many other talented broadcasters in the state is truly humbling."

Since 2012, ESPN Ithaca has been honored seven times by the New York State Broadcasters Association.

Vizella Media has operated since 2007, headed by President Todd Mallinson. In 2010, Vizella Media purchased WPIE, which is branded as ESPN Ithaca and home to New York Yankees baseball, Cornell Wrestling, nearly 80 Section IV high school games, and Mike & Mike. In 2016, Vizella began operation of Tompkins Weekly, which is a free, weekly newspaper and website.
