postheadericon Four Lansing Athletes Advance To The State Championship Meet

ltfdylanblandfeb2014_120Dylan BlandOn Saturday February 15 at Cornell ‘s Barton Hall, ten Lansing athletes competed in the Section 4 meet qualifier for the State Championship meet.  Hayley Wigsten, Anders Prestus, Max Jordan and Dylan Bland advanced to the State Championship meet to be held Saturday March 1, again in Barton Hall. 

Dylan Bland won the boy’s pole vault competition by clearing 14 feet on his first try.  Max Jordan placed second with a successful jump of 13 ft 6 inches.   Hayley Wigsten placed second in the girl’s competition by clearing 9 ft.

Anders Prestus came in second in the shot put with a throw of 44 feet 8.75 in. 

Other girl competitors were Emily Gallagher in the 55 meter dash, the long jump and the pole vault; Miya Kuramoto in the 55 meter dash and the pole vault, and Reilly Zajac in the 1000 meter run.

Other boy competitors were Ben Eisenhut in the 1000 meter run, John Losurdo in the 3200 meter run, and Zarien Weeks in the long jump.

Lansing had a very good showing, competing against all the large and small schools in Section 4.
