alternatives120The Credit Union National Association (CUNA) recently announced the winners of the 2014 Community Credit Union of the Year Award. Presented in two categories based on asset size, Alternatives Federal Credit Union won for the “less than $250 million in assets” category.

The award honors credit unions that consistently excel in the advancement of credit union ideals, are proactive in their communities, and meet the needs of their own diverse member bases. The yearly judging process considers three aspects of each credit union applicant: member impact, community impact, and financial impact.

The award will be presented to Alternatives’ CEO Tristram Coffin during a dedicated luncheon at this year's CUNA Community Credit Union and Growth Conference, November 3-6, in Las Vegas. Coffin says of the award: “I am so pleased we have won, as it speaks strongly to the dedication of our staff and all  they do to improve our members’ financial lives and strengthen our community. We don’t plan to rest on our laurels and are working toward improving and expanding our products and services.”
