NEWFIELD - Donna Conover-LeGro, age 61 of Newfield, a creator of stain glass design, died at Hospicare on Tuesday (October 24, 2006) morning. Ms. Conover-LeGro was born August 21, 1945, a daughter of the late Miner D. & Lorraine K. Hughes LeGro.

Donna will be best known for keeping “things simple” and not being caught up in the materialistic things in life. She found great joy just sitting by the water, listening to the waves and watching the spring migration and new life being created. She always helped other people and was very generous in giving her time, talents and treasures.

In addition to working with stain glass and creating some unique and unusual pieces, she enjoyed fishing and being of assistances to others. There was never a hungry person in her home, for long, or in the neighborhood.

Survivors include her daughter, Victoria L. (Tom) Hwang of Trumbull, Ct. and a son, Brian S. Conover of Los Angeles, Ca; three grandchildren, Joshua D. and Jacob A. Boxer, Halle M. Hwang; two sisters, Jayne LeGro of Ithaca, Cathryn V. (Robert) Elder of Atlanta, Ga.; one brother, David M. LeGro of Redding, Ca.; several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a brother, Stephen LeGro.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Donna’s life and accomplishments will be Saturday October 28, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Herson Funeral Home. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Loaves & Fishes or to the Ithaca Breast Cancer Alliance.
