ITHACA – Alice S. Kippola, age 93 of Ithaca, died Thursday afternoon (November 16, 2006) at her residence while under Hospice care. Ms. Kippola was born February 15, 1913, a daughter of the late Jacob and Lydia Kippola. Prior to her retirement, Alice worked for 32 years as a bio-laboratory technician with the U.S. Department of Agriculture here in Ithaca.

Survivors include her three nieces, Judy (Lloyd) Glick, Shirley (Clarence) Nero, and Pat Steenburgh; Three nephews, Frederick (Ruth) Kippola, Mitchell Kippola, and Jeffrey (Suanne) Brewer; a brother-in-law Charles Brewer; a niece-in-law, Luba Kippola. She is predeceased by nephew Francis Kippola, who died in 1995, a sister, Marie L. Brewer, who died in 2001, and her two brothers, Frank and Wayne Kippola.


Friends and family may call Monday (November 20, 2006) from 10:30 a.m. until time of 11:30 a.m. Funeral Service at the Herson Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Foote will officiate. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery in Newfield. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
