Virginia T. Larison, 84, of North Lansing, NY, passed away on Tuesday July 1, 2008, at Groton Nursing Facility, where she had been residing. She is survived by her four sons and daughters-in-law, Grey R. and Judy Larison, Grand Rapids, MI, James R. and Elaine Larison, Philomath, OR, Kenneth A. and Maryann Larison, Tucson, AZ, Douglas B. and Renee Larison, Cortland, NY; her grandchildren, Michael and Sara Dunn, Grey W. "Bill" and Erika Larison, John and Ellie Larison, Ted and Sarah Larison, Megan and Mark Pasierb, Tim Larison, Kelsea, Nickolas, Erik Koustic, Bryan and Heather Larison, Nicholas Larison; her great granddaughter, Navah Larison; her brother and sister-in-law, George and Iona Tanner, Odessa, NY; brother-in-law and his wife, Glenn and Pat Larison; many nieces, nephews; and also her former husband, Grey T. Larison, North Lansing, NY. She was predeceased by her parents, Warren and Ethel (Jobe) Tanner; and her brother, Warren Tanner, Jr.

Virginia was born in Waverly, NY on August 19, 1923, and eventually settled in Lansing in 1956. She worked 30 years as bookkeeper and was instrumental in the development of the architectural firm beginning as Tallman and what is known as today as the Thomas Group. Virginia was also a proud founding member of the Lansing United Methodist Church. Her accomplishments were second only to the greatest one of raising her four boys. Virginia loved adventures with her family, always hiking, camping, canoeing, and simply spending entire summers outdoors.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Lansing United Methodist Church, 32 Brickyard Rd., Lansing, NY, on Saturday July 5, 2008, at 11:00am, with Pastor William Gottschalk-Fielding officiating. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Odessa, NY. Family and friends are invited to visit and share memories at Church on Saturday, from 10:00am until the time of service. Those wishing may direct memorial contributions in memory of Virginia to the American Cancer Society, in honor of her father, Warren.
