(Ithaca, NY) The Unveiling of the 2009 Ithaca Festival Button and T-shirt, artwork by the youth of the community, and the works of a man who survived years of genocide to later open his own photography studio in Cairo, Egypt will be featured during First Fridays Gallery Night in downtown Ithaca on Friday May 1, 2009.Ten art galleries and two businesses will be hosting open houses from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. All of the galleries are within walking distance of each other and flyers with maps highlighting each location and its show will also be available at locations throughout downtown that evening, to help visitors discover something new at each location.



Single tickets to all 2009 Hangar Theatre performances will go on sale to the general public on Friday, May 1 at 10 a.m. The Mainstage season opens with Dirty Blonde, a jubilant, warm-hearted comedy with music that explores the life story of the American icon Mae West as related by two of her most adoring fans and unlikely lovers. Tony award nominee Emily Skinner will star in this regional premiere directed by Hangar Theatre artistic director Peter Flynn.
Aurora, New York – The Wells College Arts & Lecture Series welcomes playwright Lanna Joffrey and “Valiant” to campus on Saturday evening, May 2. The play will be presented in Phipps Auditorium, Macmillan Hall, at 7:30 pm. 

The Hangar Theatre announced the cast for its summer production of Claudia Shear's Dirty Blonde Monday. Carbonell award winning artistic director Peter Flynn directs the play, to run June 3-13 at the Hangar Theatre in Ithaca, New York.
