mailmanOne of the issues at the ZBA appeal hearing of the Lansing Rod and Gun Club permit on 19 February 2019 regards the designation of the property in a 100 year flood plane. Flood plane maps are quite vague and the determination of allowing a building permit may require a flood elevation designation by a civil engineer.

On 19 January 1996 my property was flooded. I walked up to look at the "Red Bridge" upstream of the Lansing Rod and Gun Club. There was a tree that had punched through the bridge railing and was lying on the bridge surface. Just downstream of the bridge the whole Rod and Gun Club property had been inundated by the flood water.

Too bad I was unable to provide this eye witness testimony since the public comment period had been terminated. Perhaps the ZBA can refer to news articles of that flood event.
