Lansing High School Senior Kathryn Hornibrook signed a letter of intent to play soccer at Houghton College last week. Hornibrook will attend Houghton next year, where she will be a member of the 'Highlanders,' the college's women's soccer team. She signed the letter on October 28th in the high school gymnasium."She has speed, technical skill with the aggression and style to be a pure goal scorer," says Houghton Soccer Coach Dave Lewis. "She fits the character and quality of our student athletes at Houghton, a Christian base that fits our team mission."

Lansing Athletic Hall of Fame Selection Committee Chairman and Class of 2000 Member of the Hall of Fame Marty Christopher announced the Class of 2010 inductees this week. This year four individual athletes will be honored, as well as the 1986-87 Lansing High School Women's Championship Volleyball Team.
Fourth-seeded Lansing defeated 5th-seeded Sidney on the Bobcats' home court in the Class C Section IV quarter-final on 11/2/2010. Lansing's Tara Miller scored the match's first point, a kill in center court assisted by Hannah Armstrong. Sidney quickly responded with service points and a kill, putting Lansing behind 1-4. But a dig by Kelsey Thomas led to another Miller kill, this time assisted by Breanna Brann, who would add 12 more assists during the match.

October 27, 2010 – Marvel Comics Super Heroes was the theme for the age-group swimming meet held this past weekend in the quaint village of Mexico N.Y. 25 minutes north of Syracuse. The school progress reports came out on Friday and there are only two more games left of the season for the Lansing Senior Small Fry. It's hard to believe in our tapestry of fall colors, that only weeks ago the players were anticipating the start of school, practicing in 90 degree heat and forming together as a team. This past Sunday, we hosted Candor in a display of competitive fire.
On a crisp fall evening, Saturday, at Ross Field in Groton, two Small Fry Football teams came together for battle. You could sense the anticipation, feel the tension, and hear the chants from both teams. "We are? ... Lansing!", "Together! ... We win!" echoed off the trees and surrounding buildings. Groton's response reverberated off the big red Indians tower, "Whose house is this? ...Our house!".
