The tennis team finished a very successful year with 9-1 record. We were 2nd at IAC's and runner-up at Sectionals. Devin Grant- Keane was singles champion for Class CD sectionals and voted the team MVP. Tom Zarate was awarded the Most Improved Player this year. The success of the team was credited mostly to seven seniors who played for the past 3 or 4 years. They are Devin Grant-Keane, Adam Hardie, Sadie Purnell, Rachel Strohman, Katie Bruno, Tom Zarate and Sander Moolin. Congratulations on a terrific tennis career and good luck in the future. As always thank you to our parents and friends who support the program. ---- v3i21 |

Lansing Girls took 3rd at sectionals with big performances from freshman Chloe Ryan, junior Ryann Cretney, and senior Colleen Trowbridge. Ryan advanced to the finals in both the 100 and 200, taking third and second respectively. Cretney won the 1500m, took third in the 800m, and helped the 4x800mR team of Natalie Usack, Tiffany Lind, and Katy Bland to take third place. Trowbridge had a fanominal day in triple jump as she set a new personal record of 32’7". That jump advanced her to finals where she took 4th place.
Lansing had eight girls qualify to compete at the state qualifiers meet last Thursday/Friday. Seniors Tiffany Lind, Natalie Usack, Kendal Dean, Colleen Trowbridge, Preeti Panda, and Veronica Palladino lead the way for freshman Katy Bland and Chloe Ryan. Cretney, setting a new school record, took home first place and will go to the state meet this weekend as section IV’s top seed in the 2000m Steeplechase. Cretney will also be anchoring the 4x800mR team at the state meet that consists of Usack, Lind, and Bland. Congratulations a phenomenal season to those who are done and good luck to those still competing!

More than 20 families banded together Saturday to raise money for the Lansing Community Aquatics Team (LCAT) with a huge yard sale at the Lansing Elementary School parking lot. Furniture, clothes, sundries, and even kittens were for sale to raise money for the team. "Everybody donated something, whether it was baked goods or a box of books," says Amy O'Brien, whose three daughters swim on the team. " A couple of people brought in some miscellaneous items."

The Varsity tennis team did very well at Sectionals with our #1 Singles player, Devin Grant-Keane taking first. The points he earned put the team into second behind END for Class C sectionals. Devin now plays against Class A and B at State Qualifier with the top 3 singles players getting to go to Flushing Meadows for States.
