Wells Women Shutout By Pitt Bradford Print Recommend This Article to a Friend

Friday, 12 September 2008
Aurora, New York –The University of Pittsburg Bradford defense was too much for the Express as they defeated the Wells College Women’s Soccer Team 2-0 today at Wells.  Senior Claire Petersen (Derby, NY) finished the day with eight saves for Wells.

Bradford finished the day with 18-shots on goal and rarely left the offensive zone of the Express. The Panthers got the scoring started on a penalty kick goal by Michelle Centola (Rochester, NY) to give them a quick 1-0 lead. The Panthers found the back of the net again just three minutes into the second half on a goal by Lindsay Sherman (Bradford, PA) to give them a 2-0 lead. The Panthers defense buckled down and held the Express offense to just two shots on net.

The Express will next play Cazenovia in a North Eastern Athletic Conference game at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, September 16, at Wells.

Final Score: Wells 0, Univ. Pitt. Bradford 2
