When McGreevey announced her resignation the board solicited statements from interested residents.  Iacobucci said about five responded, and the board chose to appoint Pasto.  Pasto may choose to run for a full term in this May's election.

"She is a 30 year resident of Lansing," Iacobucci said.  "She has four children.  Tim, class of '96, finished his MBA at Cornell.  He is a National Guard Afghanistan veteran.  Jamie, class of '99, is a principal.  He finished his doctorate in education in 2014.  Beth, class of '06, is working locally.  Jennifer, class of 2008, works at a jewelry store, and is preparing to go back to school.

"Linda has served on many committees, including several site-based teams at the middle high school and district levels.  She served as a PTSO Secretary and Co-President.  She is currently President of the Hospicare Board of trustees.  She and her husband Ed are raising their granddaughter Savanna, who is seven years old.  She is the primary reason Linda has been brought back into service in the Lansing schools.  Savanah is a first grader who loves life and loves learning."
